Biographie | Mr. Peiler serves as a member of the Adviser’s portfolio management team. His responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection and risk management of municipal bonds. Prior to joining the Adviser, Mr. Peiler was the Chief Investment Officer at BNC National Bank for over 23 years from 1998 to 2022. At BNC National Bank, he applied Shape Management® to the management of its portfolio of municipal, mortgage-backed, and other structured fixed-income securities. Mr. Peiler also managed portfolios for clients of its Wealth Management Division, and prior to leaving BNC National Bank, he was named the Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Peiler received a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Banking and Financial Economics from the University of North Dakota, and is a CFA® charterholder. Mr. Peiler served on the CFA Society Minnesota board from 2010 through 2021, and was its President from 2017 through 2019. | ||

Biographie | Mike brings over 15 years of experience managing institutional fixed-income portfolios. He currently manages investment portfolios across all of PTAM’s structured credit and municipal bond focused funds and separately managed accounts. Mike’s responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection, portfolio attribution, modeling RMBS and municipal bond cash flows, and risk management. Prior to joining PTAM, Mike managed more than $700 million in municipal and corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities, and other structured fixed-income for the Kentucky Farm Bureau, the state’s largest property and casualty insurance provider. Earlier in his career, Mike held positions at multiple banking institutions where he also managed diverse fixed income portfolios. Mike graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and is a CFA charterholder. | ||

Biographie | Mr. Appleson serves as a member of the PT Asset Management, LLC's portfolio management team, and is co-portfolio manager of select separately managed accounts. Mr. Appleson is responsible for the portfolio construction, management, trading, research, and risk management of these municipal bond accounts. Prior to joiningPT Asset Management, LLC in July 2013, Mr. Appleson worked for the New York Federal Reserve Bank. At the Federal Reserve, Mr. Appleson built and evaluated macroeconomic models to stress test banks’ investment portfolios and advised policy and supervision groups on various regulatory issues. From 2008 to 2012, Mr. Appleson worked for Alliance Bernstein, where he held a number of positions in fixed income, including a High Yield Research Analyst for its $30B municipal bond platform. Mr. Appleson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Touro College and received his MBA from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business with high honors. Mr. Appleson is also a CFA® charter holder and a certified FRM®. | ||

Biographie | Johnathan N. Wilhelm was born in 1966. Mr. Wilhelm joined First Trust in September 2013 as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for the First Trust Advisors Municipal Securities Team and has over 30 years of credit research and portfolio management experience in corporate and municipal securities. Prior to joining First Trust, Mr. Wilhelm was a Portfolio Manager for Municipal Bonds at Performance Trust Investment Advisors for two and one-half years and Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Nuveen Investments for 11 years. Biographie | J. Thomas Futrell, CFA was born in 1955. Mr. Futrell earned a B.A. in Economics from Wheaton College and an M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University. He has been with First Trust Advisors L.P. since 2013 and he is a Portfolio Manager responsible for managing municipal bond portfolios. Prior to joining First Trust Advisors L.P., Mr. Futrell held various positions in portfolio management and research. Mr. Futrell earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter designation in 1989. The CFA charter is a globally respected, graduate-level investment credential established in 1962 and awarded by CFA Institute — the largest global association of investment professionals. The CFA Program curriculum provides a comprehensive framework of knowledge for investment decision making and is firmly grounded in the knowledge and skills used every day in the investment profession. The three levels of the CFA Program test a proficiency with a wide range of fundamental and advanced investment topics, including ethical and professional standards, fixed-income and equity analysis, alternative and derivative investments, economics, financial reporting standards, portfolio management, and wealth planning. |
