Le Fonds a pour objectif de réaliser des revenus courants élevés. La croissance du capital est un objectif secondaire dès lors qu’il est compatible avec l’objectif de réalisation de revenus courants élevés. Putnam High Yield Bond Fund a pour objectif un niveau de revenus courants élevés, en investissant au moins deux tiers de ses actifs nets dans des titres de créance à haut rendement et à faible notation, tels que des titres de créance notés en dessous de BBB selon S &P ou Baa selon Moody’s et cotés ou négociés sur des Marchés Agréés (y compris des participations à des prêts sans effet de levier, titrisées, qui sont librement transférables, et négociées sur des Marchés Agréés, des obligations à coupon zéro et des obligations à « paiement en nature ») constituant un portefeuille que le Conseiller en Investissement considère comme ne comportant pas de risque excessif pour les revenus ou le principal.
